How to Be More Creative (in Love & Business)

It's Steve's birthday week, and I had some really good plans.

We were going to head to one of our favourite local towns, stay at a beautiful hotel and spa and enjoy a few days alone together.

Next week we are hosting the free Love + Success virtual summit (there is still space, and you should come—sign up here) and I thought it would be nice to get away and recharge for a few days before it starts.

BUT here we are back in lockdown where we live.

I was disappointed but like most entrepreneurs, I am a master of being creative even when things don't work out the way I wanted them to.

Knowing my very spiritual husband well, I planned him a stay-at-home retreat instead.

He has 2 days and 2 nights to meditate, think, read, sleep or whatever else feels good for him. We have a separate retreat space on our property so he has the freedom to come and go as he likes (he loves those late night meditation sessions when the world is quiet).

I have the kids and all the meals looked after, so he can just let go into his practice.

And I knit him a new meditation shawl for the occasion.

But this is all a product of getting creative despite original plans not working the way I hoped.

Most of us use the creative power of our brains to replay painful stories from the past or imagine worst case scenarios.

We forget to ask ourselves:

“How can I make this moment wildly beautiful even if it isn’t exactly what I wanted?”

“How could this be so much better than what I thought I wanted?”

Let your brain be creative in ways that support you in your relationships and your business. If you aren't sure how to do this more regularly, please join us for the Love + Success Summit. You will learn so much and leave inspired.
