Want to know one of the most basic but powerful keys to true growth?
It’s not flashy.
It’s not glamorous.
It’s consistency.
Here’s the problem: most people get stuck in “all or nothing” thinking. They believe that if they can’t devote a huge chunk of time to self-investment, it’s not worth it.
But that simply isn’t true.
Self-investment is more than just “self-care.” It’s about showing up for yourself—again and again. It doesn’t mean you need to work out for 90 minutes a day, meditate at 4am, and read three personal development books every week.
The biggest disservice most people do to themselves is believing that if they only have five minutes to spend on their well-being, it doesn’t count.
But I promise you, it does.
Not only that, but every action you take and every ounce of energy you invest in yourself compounds. Five minutes on your yoga mat counts. A quick walk around the block counts. A short moment of mindful breathing counts.
I’ve tested this out in my own life. Years ago, I struggled with making time for my workouts. I’d tell myself if I couldn’t commit to a full hour, why bother at all?
But when I finally decided that even five minutes mattered—that quality and presence were more important than quantity—everything shifted.
I stopped fighting with myself and let the days I had time and energy be for challenging workouts and the days I had no time and less energy be for a five minute little something.
Now, consistency isn’t a struggle. It’s part of my life and just who I am.
I have taught this to many of my friends and clients over the years with similar results.
Give yourself the permission to let five minutes count.
Let every step forward be a victory.
Your growth isn’t measured in hours on the mat or books read. It’s measured by your willingness to keep showing up for yourself, no matter how big or small the effort.
You are worth it—every single day. Please share this with anyone who needs to hear it today.
