364: How to Use Intuition to Help You Make Progress

Entrepreneurship • Sep 30, 2026, 11:08:18 AM • Written by: Erin Aquin

Whole Life success requires more than a positive mindset or a solid plan. You need perspective to navigate difficult circumstances without losing sight of your highest Vision, and you need enough trust in your intuition to make decisions when logic alone cannot give you the full answer.

In this episode, Erin shares an original card from The Superabound Oracle called the Progress Formula. This card helps you understand why moving forward can feel harder than it needs to and how your Vision, mindset, and intuition can help you find a clearer path.

You will learn how to separate external challenges from the internal static that adds confusion, doubt, and overwhelm. Erin also shares questions you can use to clarify your Vision, recognize what may be complicating your path, and identify the next step that feels both practical and intuitively right.

In this episode, you will learn:
  • How the Progress Formula explains what helps us move toward our next lantern
  • The difference between external challenges and the internal Static that makes them harder to navigate
  • Why a clear, emotionally compelling Vision is essential for Whole Life success
  • How mindset and intuition work together to support better decisions
  • What this card can reveal when you are considering giving up or taking a more complicated path than necessary
NOTE: This episode offers a preview of The 30-Day Journey to the Superabound Oracle, an experience designed to help you develop the same two skills Erin has taught her successful private clients for years: a healthy mindset that keeps you connected to your highest Vision and a deeper ability to trust your intuition alongside practical thinking.

Over 30 days, or at your own pace, you will work with the core Superabound concepts and tools while strengthening your intuitive skills. The experience also includes your own Superabound Oracle deck.

Erin will be completing the full journey alongside participants in October, sharing additional insights and support along the way.

Welcome to the Superabound Podcast, where vision-led entrepreneurs learn to build a generous business without sacrificing what matters most. You are listening to episode 364, "How to Use Intuition to Help You Make Progress."

[00:18]
Okay. I'm outside. I'm enjoying the last of the warm days. And I wanted to give you a little something today. I want to share with you a sneak peek inside one of the modules for the 30-Day Journey to the Superabound Oracle.

As I've been talking about, I created an oracle deck, hand pastel drew every single card, and it is going to officially be released in just a couple of weeks. I'm very excited. But I did not want this to be just another deck that you buy, that you maybe look at once or twice, look up the meaning, see how it feels, and then, you know, it sits on your desk. I want this to actually be a spiritual and practical tool that you can use every day as part of maybe not only your spiritual practice, but in your business, to help you make decisions and evolve your creative process.

[01:30]
So for visionaries, this can be a tricky thing, because many of us did not get some kind of formal training on how to coordinate and collaborate with not only the practical and logical strategies towards our next lantern, but also to get in touch with our intuition. And so I want this Journey to the Oracle program to really be some intuitive training, with all of the mindset tools that I have created and have cards that represent.

[02:11]
So in today's podcast episode, you are going to briefly get to see one of the cards, and then you'll hear some thoughts, you'll get some insights on it. Because I know some of you listen to this podcast, you're not watching on YouTube, I will also put a picture of the card we are talking about in the show notes at besuperabound.com/podcast, so you can see what you are intuitively connecting with, and you'll get a sense of how this 30-day program works.

[02:51]
For those of you listening to this podcast when it comes out, I am actually planning on doing the entire 30-day journey over the next month, and I will be adding insights that come up for me and for all of you to the program as we go along. So this could be a really fun experience if you want to have support and go through the journey together. You can learn more about that and join the 30-Day Journey to the Superabound Oracle at besuperabound.com/oraclejourney.

And I didn't mention this, but doing the journey also means I'm shipping you a deck. So as soon as those decks come to me, which should be in the next couple of weeks, I'm shipping them out to everyone who bought the journey program. So you'll also get a deck as well.

[03:46]
I hope you enjoyed this, and I hope you learned something about the Progress Formula, which is the card we're going to talk about. I loved making this card, and I hope you enjoy connecting with it on this deeper, more intuitive level, and that it teaches you something you needed to hear.

[04:04 to 04:10: pause]

[04:10] Card 7: Progress Formula
Card number seven is one of my personal favorites. This is a card that, just to share a little bit about the creation of the card, this is a card that I intellectually really grappled with. I was like, "I don't know how I'm going to show this," but it's such an important concept in the Superabound teaching that Steve and I created. But I have no idea how to convey this in an image.

And I went through ideas of abstract things and tried to, you know... I'm not a sketch artist, so I don't have, you know, some perfect drawing skill that I could really, like, pull out and create a literal depiction of this concept. And I was taking a nap one day, and I woke up, and the image was there, and it was just a little flash of a moment. I had some other work I was supposed to do that I completely rescheduled. I was like, "I can't, I have to go create this card right now." I put on some music. I think I actually did a slow-motion video of this particular one, if I'm not mistaken. And the card just flowed right out of me. I think it was under an hour from start to finish that I was able to create this one, and it is still one of my favorites.

[05:45]
So the card, I named this card number seven, Progress Formula, which is a Superabound concept that is central to the theme of our bestselling book, Superabound: Live the Life the Universe Is Dreaming for You. And this is basically this most easy way to make progress towards a lantern. Towards a lantern.

If you are at point A and you want to reach and light your next lantern, there are ways to do that that could be very complicated. But if we reduce it down to the simplest terms, in order to make progress, your vision has to be bigger, more inspiring, more heart-awakening than the combination of your static, which is all of the internal drama we have, all of the limiting thoughts, the mindset stuff that may hold us back, and just the learning curve of getting from point A to point B. All of that internal stuff, like, sometimes call it like your heavy backpack that you would have to hoist up the mountain with you. Combination of that times the challenges you have.

[07:21]
So we have challenges. We have things to do in order to get from point A to point B. On a hike in the world, you have to walk on a trail. You may have to climb over some rocks. There may be rain that comes down. There are external things to navigate between point A and point B. And so when you have your challenges, if we just had external challenges, it would be pretty easy to light a lantern. But when they are multiplied by the static, the internal drama... If you take that nice little walk and you add a 50-pound backpack full of bowling balls, that is going to make it much harder. So that means the vision has to be bigger than the combination and the amplification of that static on the tasks to do and terrain.

[08:19]
And so the Progress Formula card comes up most often when people are making things more difficult than they need to be. So if it is a card that is kind of giving you a wake-up call, it is saying: please bring it back to looking at what static are you dealing with? What challenges are actually before you? And is your vision clear enough, big enough, inspiring enough to help you weather the storm?

[08:54]
You will also notice in this particular card, the traveler has their backpack on. They also have their torch. They also have that internal inner flame that is somehow still burning really brightly, even in the midst of the rain. And I think that that really speaks to how important tending our inner flame is. It is going to come up in some future cards, so I won't say too much about it now. But walking with that flame, and knowing that you have made it to a point in the journey where the top of the mountain is getting closer...

This person in this particular card really looks like they are getting close to the top of the mountain. They have seen some things. They have been through some things. They have just walked through a horrible storm, and they are right on the precipice of things starting to ease up. But it is not because the sky just opened up, actually. It is not just like, "Oh, they got lucky and it is good weather." They got up high enough, higher than the clouds. They are about to break that cloud cover and get towards the peak of the mountain. And that took work. And that took effort. And that took, you know, internal coaching and static management. That took a lot from that person. And they had to have their strong flame.

[10:34]
So I really love this card. When it comes up, it is a reminder to check in. Are you right on the precipice of something? Are you about to give up on something right at the moment where you are going to cross over into, you know, above the cloud cover, into new terrain? Or has your backpack gotten too heavy? Have you chosen a path that maybe is longer and harder than it needs to be? Is your vision calling you forward? Is it strong enough to break through those clouds and that rain?

[11:15]
So you could definitely journal on any of the things I just said. But I actually like to do this as... when this card comes up, whether it is in a reading or whether it is just along the trajectory of our journey together, I find it really helpful to lay it out in a visual. So this is a card where you can do a little homework with it. You could kind of put these things in the categories.

So you could have your static, which we are going to talk about soon. Your challenges, again, we are going to talk about that soon. Basically, internal things that are holding you back: feelings, beliefs that might not be so helpful, confusion, overwhelm, those things that kind of tend to slow us down or weigh us down. The challenges: the actual terrain between point A and point B, and the weather that you are going through.

[12:13]
And, you know, when we are talking about business, it could be the global economy. If that global economy is not doing well, that can feel like a challenge. It is not in your mind. It is something where you can say, "This is the actual fact of the matter in my industry right now." And rather than use... it is not an excuse to say, "Oh, I can never light my lantern." It is saying, "This is a challenge or a puzzle I need to solve with my own creativity, my own problem-solving, my own involvement in making our world a better place," whatever it looks like for you. Those are the external things, the external factors.

[12:59]
And then making sure that your vision is crystal clear. If you are at this point and you feel like, "I still couldn't just tell someone my vision, I couldn't just say it in a sentence or two," go back, revisit the Superabound Vision card, revisit that exercise. Because the truth is, being a visionary is hard. It is beautiful and wonderful, and I would not choose a different path for my life. But if your vision is not powerful enough to help you weather the storm, you are going to get lost somewhere on that mountain. If you can't reorient to where the top of the mountain is, to that sun peeking up over the horizon, up over the mountain, if your inner flame is not strong enough, the challenges and static will ultimately become too much. You will probably get off the mountain and go back to the goal swamp and just hang out there, because it's more comfortable and it's safer.

[14:17]
So this is your work today: to really identify for yourself common things that become static for you, common emotions, common beliefs, common challenges between you and your next lantern, or you and your ultimate vision... that are not between you, but between where you are now and your ultimate vision and your ultimate next lantern. And making sure that your vision has been clearly articulated with yourself.

It is something that, if you... I have it on posters on the wall, I have it on Post-it notes on the mirror, I have my vision. If you don't feel something emotionally stirring when you read that, or when you see that, when you say that vision statement out loud, that Superabound vision, it's not quite there yet. Your Superabound vision should evoke an emotional experience for you.

[15:22]
This is Progress Formula. I hope that you'll work with this card and remember how the formula is there to support you.
