Traditionally meditation was handed down from a guru to students who devoted their entire live's to the practice.
With the demands of modern daily life however, most people who are interested in meditation are devoted to many things such as their families and careers. Most of us simply don't have time to spend years immersed in traditional spiritual life even if we wanted to.
We need to redefine what it means to lead a spiritual life in our current culture beginning with down to earth guides who can relate to both their students experience's and their demanding lives.
Join Erin Aquin and Steve Haase on a 4-month journey to help you deepen your own practice while learning how to articulate and share the power of meditation with your community.
In this training you will:
Month 1: Personal Practice
Before you can teach meditation it is important to become immersed in your own daily practice. We will spend this first month identifying obstacles, and practical things that work for you and things that don’t so that you will better relate to your own students.
Month 2: Practical Teaching Skills
During the second month we will dive into teaching skills. You will learn how to transform your inner experience into something you can speak about and different techniques for doing it.
Month 3: Teaching Meditation for Different Populations
In our third month together, we will learn how to work with different groups when teaching meditation. We will specifically explore teaching yoga for children, adult beginners, yoga practitioners and we will touch upon teaching for seniors and at-risk populations.
Month 4: Making Your Classes SuccessfulOur work will also focus on making your classes and workshops successful and well-attended. We will explore the art of authentic promotion and ways to target your ideal students so you can help as many people as possible. You will use your new skills to help plan your next workshop.
Month 5: Wrap-up and Ongoing Commitments
Our final month will be focused on where we go from here with special attention to curriculum building and real world practice teaching.

The type of meditation we will be working with doesn't require you or your potential students to adhere to a specific religion, spiritual path, guru or teacher. We will however, draw from the depths discovered by some of these paths so you can organically find a way of guiding meditation that is authentic to you and your own experiences.
Our exploration will include:
