Perspective Shift: Lantern

- "Lantern" lights your path to the next stop, it isn’t the point of the journey of life
3 Stages of Reaching Your Lantern
1. Preparing
You must first know where you are going and why. Connecting with your big vision for what you want to create, and knowing that it is your vision is the foundation of the journey ahead.
2. Progress
The Progress Formula is how you manage Static and Challenges and actually walk towards your lantern.
Static: default beliefs about yourself and your capacities. It is the inner dialogue that gets in your way.
Challenge: whatever is between you and the thing you want. Challenges take the form of decisions and tasks. They are not the mental drama that accompanies those decisions and tasks.
3. Arrival
What it’s going to take to be the person who lights the Lantern is different than what it takes to be the person who is just walking towards it. As you get close, the change often rocks ones self-concept and requires a leap across the threshold.
Make sure you celebrate it for real. Acknowledge how far you came and who you became in the process.
Exercises:
We recommend doing these exercises daily for the best effect. You don't have to do the full version every time, but if you tune into these concepts in some way each day, you will make massive progress towards your Lantern.
Preparing: Listen to the guided meditation at point 25:30 in the recording to get centered and bring into clear details the thing you want in your life. Write down what you see.
Progress: Make a list of all the Static going through your mind regarding the Lantern and your ability to reach it. Now make a list of all the Challenges. Acknowledge and embrace the Static for being part of who you are; decide what to do with the Challenges and put the steps to take on your calendar.
Arrival: Write down who you are becoming in order to light that Lantern when you arrive.
