Last summer, I launched a “low-pressure” challenge for the entrepreneurs and leaders in my coaching programs. It was born out of a simple observation: almost everyone I coach is a pro at working under pressure.
For many, pressure becomes a default fuel—something we turn to not just in emergencies, but every day. At first, it works. We get results, hit deadlines, and feel a jolt of accomplishment.
But over time, living in a constant state of pressure wears us down. The long-term costs—burnout, stress, loss of joy—creep up almost unnoticed.
Through the challenge, my community and I practiced looking for new, sustainable sources of fuel for our work:
Here’s what I realized:
Pressure is a valuable skill—but if you find yourself unable to relax it, it might be because there’s a deeper lack of trust. Pressure feels necessary if you don’t fully trust yourself, your team, or your systems.
If you’re running your business as if you’re the only lantern-bearer, you’ll always feel the urge to push harder. But building a business is about finding new tools, sources of energy, and trusting that the next lantern can be lit—sometimes by others.
What if you could run your business, not only on pressure, but on trust, vision, and shared mission?
That’s the journey I invite you to consider.
